The rubber is quite stiff, not floppy and has a very grippy texture. At first I thought that the 1/4" thick rubber might be a little too thick, but it turned out to be fine. I bought 12 cap screws and nuts thinking I would need that many to hold it firmly in place. Then back home to cut the rubber to size and install. I found some black oxide finish 10x32x1/2" allen head cap screws that I thought would work well and blend in with the black rubber. I wanted to screw it down to the lid, but TS didn't have the fasteners I wanted, so I drove across town to our good, old fashion True Value hardware store where they have a zillion different bins of fasteners of all sorts. ![]() It was on a 3' wide roll and I needed a piece 20.5" x 30.5", so I bought 2' of it at $5.49/foot. ![]() If he plays admirably and doesn't get rattled by one of the best team's he'll ever face in his college career, I'll be impressed. What Locke can do to continue to impress, even in what figures to be a lopsided loss, is show the same immense poise and confidence that he exuded down multiple scores on the road in his first career start. Ohio State is significantly better than Wisconsin in just about every facet. 3 Ohio State in just his second career start, but this is the best Buckeyes' defense since the 2019 unit that boasted Chase Young and Jeff Okudah. The odds are stacked against the redshirt freshman. Braedyn Locke could impress me even if the Badgers lose by three or four scores Saturday night. ![]() He’s torched almost every defense he’s played, and I expect the same on Saturday. It doesn’t really matter how much attention is devoted to stopping Harrison. They’ll also have to defend an Ohio State offense that’s likely getting Emeka Egbuka back from an injury, which will open up even more for Harrison. The most impressive thing they’ve done all season was limit Isaiah Williams to just 16 yards last week. And for the few weeks they have played pass-heavy offenses, the results weren’t too promising. They’re mostly untested against passing offenses. I would maybe feel more confidence if Wisconsin’s pass defense warranted it. Harrison’s even coming off of his best game of the season, where he caught 11 balls for 162 yards and the game-securing touchdown against one of the best defenses in the country. The only weeks where he failed to reach 100 receiving yards were against Indiana and Notre Dame, the two games he’s suffered an injury. He leads the Big Ten in receiving yards, with over 200 more than anyone else. A big reason why is that Ohio State expects to have dynamic receiver Emeka Egbuka back in action, which will force Wisconsin to divert attention away from Harrison and not double him up every chance they get.ĭespite their success against him last year, it’s hard to feel confident in any team’s ability to limit a receiver like Harrison. Still, I can't see the wide out posting another meager stat line on Saturday. If the Badgers can limit Harrison, there's a chance they also throw McCord off his game. The two played together in high school, which explains a lot. Harrison is the Buckeye's leading receiver by far, and he's been the security blanket and go-to target for the young quarterback Kyle McCord. If Wisconsin can shut down Harrison, there's a chance it actually makes an impact on the game this time around. However, it'll once again be imperative to limit the superstar receiver's impact on the game come Saturday. As I said, the Badgers' secondary still got surgically destroyed. Now, limiting Harrison's impact had little to no effect on the outcome. in check throughout the game - he was limited to three catches for 45 yards. ![]() The Badgers' secondary, for all intents and purposes, was utterly annihilated.Ĭuriously, though, they somehow managed to keep all-everything wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. In Ohio State's evisceration of Wisconsin last season, the Buckeyes compiled 281 yards through the air and five touchdowns. Minimally invasive vitreoretinal surgery within the Tri-state area was first applied at Columbia. Why Choose Columbia?Ĭolumbia is the birthplace for several vitreoretinal surgical techniques. For macular puckers, the vitreous gel is removed, and then a “membrane peel” is performed to remove the scar tissue on the retina. In a vitrectomy, the vitreous gel is removed to prevent it from pulling on the retina and is replaced with a mixture of air and gas that acts as a bandage to heal the hole. In most cases, a surgery called a vitrectomy is recommended. Gray area in the center of vision, or even a blind spot.Ī macular hole can lead to a detached retina if left untreated, so receiving the proper care is critical.Straight lines or objects appear bent or wavy.Since these conditions usually happen slowly, symptoms are often subtly at first. A macular pucker may develop if scar tissue forms where the hole is. With age, the vitreous can shrink and pull away from the retina tissue, causing a hole in the macular area of the retina. The vitreous is a gel-like substance inside the eye that helps keep its round shape. Both macular holes and puckers can cause blurry and distorted vision and are related to aging. ![]() A macular pucker is an extra layer of tissue that forms on the surface of the macula. Rafieetary says, “management success requires consideration of the patient’s overall state of health, physical and emotional status and needs, as well as assessment of all relevant objective and subjective findings. The macula is in the center of the retina and controls central vision or straight-ahead vision used in driving and ready and seeing fine detail. ![]() Neither of these situations are a contraindication for proceeding with the membrane peel. Also, in the absence of a posterior vitreous detachment, the anterior displacement of the vitreous following lens extraction may increase tractional forces, resulting in additional macular morphologic changes. The downside of performing cataract surgery in the presence of an ERM is the increased chance of cystoid macular edema. Also, cataract surgery can improve the retinal surgeon’s intraoperative view for ERM surgery, enhancing the postoperative outcome. The upside in proceeding with cataract surgery before membrane peel is that some patients’ visual function may improve postoperatively to a satisfactory level, in which case ERM surgery may no longer be necessary. But, if the patient’s vision is worse than that and he or she is symptomatic, then surgery may be considered. Many patients with epiretinal membranes-whose vision is in the 20/20- to 20/40 range-never need surgical intervention. “For instance, if the thickest area-likely the epicenter of the membrane-is in an extrafoveal or perifoveal location, it may not alter visual function as much as a broad membrane encompassing the entire macular region, and therefore is not as crucial to address surgically,” Dr. Note the location and extent of the ERM, as well as any other secondary effects such as a hole in the membrane (pseudohole) or tractional foveal schisis, which may result in a different visual outcome. “Having said that, OCT has allowed us to detect and document the most subtle of retinal pathologies, such as epiretinal membranes, particularly in the presence of media opacification.” Just because a patient has a cataract doesn’t mean they don’t have a retinal issue or glaucoma.”Įpiretinal membranes are very common, so look for the glistening sheen of the macula, and distortion and tortuosity of small vessels in the arcade. That is, it’s critical to keep looking beyond the cataract for other conditions. “Both epiretinal membrane and cataract are likely to occur among the aging population, so these two conditions commonly coexist. “We encounter this dilemma frequently,” says Mohammad Rafieetary, OD, who is an associate at a retinal subspecialty practice in Memphis, Tenn. Where does he go from here-to the cataract surgeon or the retinal specialist? The patient was never told of any retinal problem prior, but examination reveals an epiretinal membrane (ERM) in the right eye. Both lenses show 2+ cortical spoking and 1+ nuclear sclerosis, consistent with 20/40. It is also possible to remove polyps during a colonoscopy. What else may be done during the procedure?ĭuring the colonoscopy a biopsy (a sample of the lining of the bowel for closer examination under the microscope) may be taken using tiny biopsy forceps passed through the colonoscope. The video camera on the colonoscope transmits images of the inside of the colon to a monitor, allowing the endoscopist to examine the lining of the colon for any disease or abnormalities. The colonoscopy is a long flexible tube, about the thickness of your index finger, with a bright light and video camera at its tip. In order to do the test a colonoscope is carefully passed through the anus into the rectum and advanced through the intestine. Diagnostic colonoscopy is recommended for persistent change in bowel habit, occult or frank blood in the stool, unexplained anaemia and as a screening test for colon cancer.
